Step 1

I have always wanted to eventually write a book. It’s a number on my “goals in life” list. As I’ve now just hit over a year after graduating from college and just now getting interviews for my career, I am being pushed further to try to cross some items off the list. It seems this may be the best time I can do this. Yes, I have two jobs. Yes, I am taking continuing education classes every chance I get. Yes, I am going on ride-outs with a local crime scene department until 7:00 am. Yes, I am sinking further into thinking that my ideal career will never happen. That is why I feel this is the time to at least start my so-called projects: writing a book, projects around the house that make me feel like a mini Martha Stewart, creating my own clothes, the long road to weight loss, learning the art of cooking, starting a side business of photography, along with other tidbits. This is how I decided to start a blog. I have so many ideas in my head and so much motivation to do them all that I need a place to collect my thoughts and (hopefully) have people who can give advice, encourage and listen.
My step 1 was to start this blog. My step 2 is about the dream of my book. I have a basic feeling of the plot. I have not written anything down. I’m not sure why, but I just FEEL that the first thing I need to do is come up with the main character’s names. One is a boy, the other a girl. I have started meaningless, mind-numbing research….even though I already made a character list earlier this year. My head hurts to think about researching more. Maybe this is a good sign; maybe it means I’ve done it all and I should start looking over what I have. I will post my list soon and update as it (hopefully) dwindles.

Each time I post, I am closer to something I've wanted
